Falling in Love at Folks Fest

Every time I’ve fallen in love, it’s been a slow, subtle thing that eventually grabs me tight and doesn’t let me go.

It happened again this weekend: the music started and slowly, band by band, and I fell. By Sunday, it wouldn’t let me go. Now I can’t stop listening to Blind Pilot and I’ve been thinking about M. Ward more than I’d like to admit.

AT&T evades punishment for its wiretapping shenanigans

Thanks for nothing, Judge Walker.

Last month, U.S. District Judge Vaughn Walker ruled in favor of AT&T in its landmark wiretapping case, upholding the law former President George W. Bush signed in 2008 effectively immunizing from prosecution all telecommunications.

Burrus at the Bar: High-Octane Beer Gets the Wine Treatment

Stashing that imperial IPA isn’t being snobbish. It’s smart.

Big beer. It’s a creeper trend that has, in the past year or so, gone ballistic as evidenced by the proliferation of high-alcohol, massively hopped special brews often sporting familiar names with “imperial” bolted on the front. Avery’s Maharaja Imperial India Pale Ale is a good example.
