Dinosaurs are coming back to Golden, Colorado…only this time, they are arriving on the Dinosaur Express Train! On May 30-31, railroad tracks will meet dinosaur tracks for a weekend of family fun at the Colorado Railroad Museum as the Dinosaur Express Train chugs into the station.

The world’s first Stegosaurus and Apatosaurus fossils were discovered at nearby Dinosaur Ridge, and Golden is where the first T. rex tooth fossil was found. So, it’s only fitting that two of every kid’s favorite things—dinosaurs and trains—come together for this fun festival.

Activities include

• Rides on a train pulled by a coal-fired steam locomotive around the Museum’s half-mile circle of track, with the Dinosaur Express Train departing every half-hour from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
• Hands-on activities including dinosaur-themed crafts, turntable demonstrations, face painting, and more!
• A “Follow the Dinosaur Tracks Adventure,” where kids and families can participate in a scavenger hunt around 15 acres of locomotives, rail cars, cabooses, and model trains.
• Dinosaur-themed activities hosted by the Denver Museum of Nature & Science, Dinosaur Ridge, and the Morrison Natural History Museum.
• The Museum’s own mascot, “Spike, the Railroad Dog,” will be on hand for photo opportunities.
• Food, drink, and tasty treats will be available for purchase.

We will hear from Caitlin Schneider of the Colorado Fiscal Institute about how this proposal will reduce income taxes in Colorado for 97% of taxpayers, while raising additional revenue to help with Colorado’s budget. First, we need to get enough signatures to get it on the ballot. Then we need to tell friends and neighbors about it, and get it passed in November. Even though this is about taxes, it can be quite interesting, especially with Caitlin as our speaker!

Because this is a catered event, PLEASE REGISTER if you plan to attend. No charge to register, but a $5 donation would be appreciated at the door to help offset venue and appetizer costs.

This immersive performance draws from memories of a not-so-distant past when devices were turned off, conversations unfolded face-to-face, and communal experience was a daily practice where differing ideas could coexist, collide, and be explored.

Part performance, part adventure, audiences are invited on a new kind of journey that moves through space, memory, and imagination while igniting nontraditional, abandoned corners of our city with unexpected life.

Last month, Uncle Lucius released Live from Ear Studio. Recorded live to tape at Ear Studio in Austin, TX, the record features select singles from their latest LP Like It’s The Last One Left, plus three covers: “Bertha” by the Grateful Dead; “Shadow People,” a Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers staple and “Just To Satisfy You” made popular by Waylon Jennings & Willie Nelson.

Uncle Lucius has long been known for their unique blend of roots rock & roll and country soul. Since adding heavyweights Doug Strahan (guitar) and Drew Scherger (bass) to the fold, the band has expanded its palette, exploring new musical landscapes and reveling in the power that comes from following sonic avenues, without prejudice, wherever they lead. The results onstage speak for themselves.

During the years following the band’s farewell tour in 2018, their audience continued to organically grow, highlighted by the placement of their song “Keep the Wolves Away” in an episode of Yellowstone and its subsequent RIAA gold and platinum certifications. After a few years on hiatus — with a fresh outlook and a deep well of new ideas — the band members began to shake off their collective rust and blueprint songs that mirrored their career and current status, hitting on themes of resolve and resilience. The band released their first album in 8 years Like It’s The Last One Left last December via Thirty Tigers / Boo Clap Records. Ever want to be on a game show? Come on down for your chance to go up on stage and play your favorite game shows or cheer on your friends. It looks and feels like you are on the set of a real game show. The show is 21+. Doors open at 7 pm and the show starts at 8 pm. Seating is first come, first served.

Rion Evans is a born game show host who is funny and engaging and will have you laughing out loud. Rion has headlined at the nation’s top comedy clubs, but between comedy dates Rion gives his talents to commercial acting and voice over jobs as principal characters for many respected companies such as Chili’s, BroadwayHD, Advanced Auto Parts, and Mars/Wrigley.

The Louisville Underground is a speakeasy style venue “hidden” behind Tilt Pinball in the basement at 640 Main Street (corner of Pine and Main) in downtown Louisville, Colorado. We have a full bar and we offer delicious Shopey’s pizza, salads, and house-made sides. Come early, have a bite and a beer, and play some games in our sister bar, Tilt PinBall.

Rockmount Ranch Wear will host a launch for owner Steve Weil’s newest book, Rockmount Legends: Celebrities in Classic American Fashion, which tells the story of how a three-generation Colorado business helped define Americana by celebrating individuality, rebellion, and personal style. Written by third-generation CEO & chief creative officer Steve Weil, this book is a tribute to a brand that didn’t follow fashion but shaped it.

Steve says that everything has a story, and this book captures many of the moments that have shaped his small, family-run company in LoDo, whose reach has extended around the world over its 80 years. Rockmount Legends traces three generations of Weil storytelling, starting with Elvis Presley and growing into 200+ stories about icons of rock and ranch.

Did you know the Sundance Film Festival is coming to Boulder in 2027?

To help residents get ready for this momentous cultural event, the Cultural Arts & Public Spaces (CAPS) advisory committee is hosting a free monthly independent film series in 2026. The CAPS “Boulder Film Friends in Superior” film screenings will showcase independent films that have premiered at past Sundance Film Festivals, Cannes Film Festival, Toronto International Film Festival, LA Film Festival, and more, creating opportunities for the community to gather and enjoy acclaimed cinema.

The Life of Chuck (2025) is a genre-bending, non-linear drama based on a Stephen King novella, directed by Mike Flanagan. Told in three acts in reverse chronological order, it follows the life of Charles “Chuck” Krantz (Tom Hiddleston) from his death by a brain tumor at 39 back to his childhood, celebrating the ordinary, beautiful, and profound moments of human existence.
