Press releases are provided to Yellow Scene Magazine. In an effort to keep our community informed, we publish some press releases in whole.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

July 23, 2026

The Peaks at Old Laramie Trail Celebrates 10 Years of Community Legacy in Lafayette

August 6 Milestone Celebration Features a Colorado-themed Menu, a Charity Drive for Sister Carmen Community Center, Photo Booth and DJ

Lafayette, CO – The Peaks at Old Laramie Trail will host its 10th-anniversary celebration, A Touch of Decade-nce: Toasting to a 10-Year Legacy, taking place on Thursday, August 6, from 6 to 8 pm. The milestone event will gather 75–125 guests made up of current and former resident families, team members, Chamber of Commerce members and professional partners. The event will honor a decade of dedicated service to residents and the broader Lafayette community.

“Reaching our ten-year milestone is an incredible achievement, but what truly defines our legacy is how we have grown alongside the families we serve,” said Alexis Dake, Director of Sales. “Over the past ten years, we’ve successfully adapted our spaces and programming to stay ahead of those trends. It’s rewarding to welcome new residents and their adult children into a community that feels modern, active and tailored to their unique needs, ensuring our legacy of exceptional service carries on for decades to come.”

The community has recently received upgrades to the furniture in all common areas of both assisted living and memory care, Dake said.

Attendees will enjoy a vibrant night with a DJ and a custom photo booth donated by Blue Federal Credit Union. The culinary experience, crafted by Chef and Director of Culinary Services Rowan DuBois features an entirely Colorado-themed menu. DuBois has been in the community for five years and goes above and beyond to make resident experiences special.

The menu includes Rocky Ford mint melon skewers, peach prosciutto mozzarella appetizers, green chili bites, spinach artichoke crostini and spicy apricot brie. The celebration also features signature desserts like white chocolate raspberry mousse, mini-Palisade Peach cheesecakes and dark chocolate strawberry tarts, served alongside themed wildflower spritzers and elderberry sparkling lemonades.

Marking a decade in Lafayette also serves as an opportunity to look back at the community’s deep local roots. When The Peaks first opened its doors in 2016, its very first resident was the late Chuck Waneka, a legendary Lafayette pioneer and former Boulder County Commissioner in the 1980s and 1990s. Waneka was widely respected for his historic work in agricultural preservation and for negotiating the growth boundaries that permanently protected the region’s beautiful open spaces.

True to its history of community integration, the event will center around a donation drive for the Sister Carmen Community Center, a longtime local pillar supporting seniors, jobseekers and families. Sister Carmen representatives will be in attendance to share information and collect monetary and food donations.

The evening will also honor the community’s dedicated team by presenting the Associate of the Year award, recognizing an outstanding team member with a commemorative plaque and a $500 prize. Guests will also be treated to a grand door prize drawing for a vacation getaway to Estes Park, specifically to offer a well-deserved break to hardworking caregivers.
