Boulder Opera Company Celebrates Its 15th Anniversary Season with Mozart vs. Salieri

Boulder Opera Company proudly launches its milestone 15th Anniversary Season with Mozart vs. Salieri: A Summer Opera Rivalry Concert on Sunday, August 23, 2026, at 3:00 PM. This special concert invites audiences to experience an afternoon of unforgettable music, dramatic storytelling, and the timeless works of two of history’s most celebrated composers.

Inspired by the legendary rivalry between Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and Antonio Salieri, the concert explores the brilliance of both composers through beloved arias, ensembles, and dramatic scenes. Audiences will hear music that has captivated generations while discovering the artistry that made each composer an enduring voice in opera history.

Performed by Boulder Opera’s acclaimed artists under the baton of Music Director Dr. Jose Arturo González, the program blends exceptional vocal performances with engaging narration, creating an entertaining and accessible experience for longtime opera enthusiasts and those discovering opera for the first time.

As Boulder Opera celebrates fifteen years of bringing high-class opera to Colorado, this anniversary season reflects the company’s continued commitment to artistic excellence, community engagement, and making opera welcoming and accessible for audiences of all ages.

Later this season, Boulder Opera continues its 15th Anniversary celebration with Italian Nights: Wine, Love and Opera on Saturday, September 19, 2026. This intimate house concert brings audiences up close with Boulder Opera artists for an evening of beautiful music, fine wine, and Italian-inspired hospitality in a welcoming salon setting.

The celebration continues with A Night at the Salon: Vintage Glamour & Opera, Boulder Opera’s 15th Anniversary Fundraising Gala, on Saturday, October 17, 2026, from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM. Inspired by the elegant salons of Europe’s Golden Age, this special evening features live opera performances, fine dining, and a celebration of fifteen years of artistic achievement while supporting Boulder Opera’s future.

In November, Boulder Opera presents Dinner Opera: La traviata at the historic Dickens Opera House in Longmont. Performed in an intimate chamber arrangement for string quartet and piano under the direction of Music Director Dr. J. Arturo González, this immersive production brings audiences closer than ever to Verdi’s beloved masterpiece.

The anniversary season concludes in spring 2027 with Charles Gounod’s Faust, a grand mainstage production that continues Boulder Opera’s tradition of presenting exceptional performances for the Colorado community.
