This begs the question; why we do not have more black-owned business owners in the area? Why they don’t always feel comfortable highlighting their skin color in Boulder County?

So we set our sites on making a list of all IBPOC owned-businesses. This expands the pool into our Hispanic, Native, Asian as well as Black business owners. Now this list grows to well over 500. This is a large list to compile with Minority-owned businesses in our region and will take more than a day or two for our full-time staff of to compile, as we need to call each one to give us the okay to be listed.

In the meantime, we are able to bring you these resources for supporting local minority-owned businesses. 

There used to be a organization that was keeping a running list, but it is now defunct. However, with this update Travel Boulder has created an article of some of the local black-owned businesses in Boulder County. but it is limited to just 5 businesses. You can find a more comprehensive list of minority-owned businesses through Boulder SBDC (Small Business Development Center).

We are building a list of Colorado Based businesses owned or managed by Black folks. This list in being curated by Equity Solutions which is owned by a Black person as well. We are collecting this data so that we can better connect with each other and that individuals and organizations that are in Colorado can better support our community.
