As the publisher of Moodfuel News and a member of COLab, I wanted to tell you about our Indigenous Student Journalist Fellowship. Perhaps you could publicize it via your channels.

We will offer two Indigenous college students studying journalism in Colorado the opportunity to learn about the niche of mental health journalism over three months. During that time, the Fellows will research, write and edit three articles while receiving a stipend, job prep coaching, solutions journalism training and networking with working journalists, editors and publishers. Our goal is to help them achieve their dreams of becoming professional journalists.

We are in the fundraising stage now (https://givebutter.com/MoodfuelNews). A generous donor has agreed to cover most of the cost of the Fellowship as long as we raise $700 by Jan. 31. We have some traction, but need to increase momentum to reach our goal by the deadline.

Because Colorado ranked last in access to mental healthcare and sixth in suicides in 2021, I launched Moodfuel News in Oct. 2022 to offer original and curated, inclusive and solutions-based journalism to Coloradans struggling with unmet mental health needs. Subscribers receive a weekly newsletter and everyone has access to our website (https://www.moodfuel.org/) with our Mental Health Events Calendar (updated weekly) and our robust Resource Guide of 900+ (and growing) zero-to-low cost programs, support groups, listeners and content so residents can empower themselves to get the support they need when they need it.
