F R A M E Poetry Series Curated by Sarah Elizabeth Schantz and Toni Oswald

Opening on January 27, 2023, East Window presents the F R A M E poetry series curated by Sarah Elizabeth Schantz and Toni Oswald. Joining Oswald and Schantz for this first reading, which is titled “Mothers and Monsters”, are Sara Veglahn and Jaclyn Eccesso. This show is the first of the series, which runs through June 2023 at the new East Window location in Boulder, Colo..

Sarah Elizabeth Schantz is a writer living in Colorado with her family. Sarah works as faculty for Lighthouse, a creative writing center based in Denver, Colorado. Schantz also teaches Creative Writing & Literature at Front Range Community College at the Boulder County Campus where she was named Master Teacher of all campuses for two years running (2016/2017). She leads and hosts her own seasonally inspired creative writing workshop series called (W)rites of Passage and has collaborated with East Window on similar workshops in the past.

Toni Oswald is a writer, musician, performer, filmmaker, and visual artist living in Boulder, Colorado. She has been published in The Oyez Review, Bombay Gin, and The Tattered Press. Her recent works include Sirens, a feminist manifest which she refers to as an “adult children’s book”. Toni’s work provides a beacon of hope in dark times to show us that only love can carry us through the shattered feminine, ecocide, violence, and the mystical.

East Window is driven by the initiative to be a safe place for creative expression from all backgrounds and communities; opening the stage to underrepresented voices in order to spark creative conversations and imaginations.
