The following is a statement from Bruce Parker of Rocky Mountain Equality Action Fund:

“Today is a sad day for LGBTQ people in our country, but there is no time for tears. The community members and staff who make up the team at Rocky Mountain Equality Action Fund are angry and ready for the fight ahead of us.

“Donald J. Trump has been declared the next President of the United States after running a campaign based in cruelty and that spent millions of dollars on dangerous and false ads to dehumanize trans people and ultimately made them a target of political and physical violence.

“The voters across the country who decided that racism, xenophobia, sexism, ableism, homophobia, transphobia and the absence of any concern for anyone but himself wasn’t a deal breaker should know that even though they just caused an unimaginable amount of suffering for so many people, we remain committed to making this country and world better for everyone including them and the LGBTQ people in their families.

“Rocky Mountain Equality Action Fund will work tirelessly to protect LGBTQ people and to limit the damage that President-elect Trump and his allies can do to our community and to anyone else. We won’t stop fighting until we have achieved equality for our community, no matter what.”
