This historic change now makes it legal for all people to share housing across the state.

Bedrooms Are For People, the organization formed in 2020 to end Boulder’s use of occupancy limits by relationship status, has actively supported the legislation and welcomes its passage statewide. Our organization thanks Representatives Manny Rutinel and Javier Mabrey and Senators Julie Gonzalez and Tony Exum for sponsoring this groundbreaking and greatly needed legislation.

The celebratory event will take place on Thursday, June 13 at DV8 Distillery from 6pm-11pm. This celebration is not just about a legal victory, but about the community of advocates that have been fighting for this change for decades. The evening will feature speeches from key community leaders, live music, food, and an opportunity for the community to come together and celebrate this triumph for housing justice.

The Housing Victory Party is open to all, and attendees are encouraged to RSVP in advance. Join us for a night of celebration, community, and camaraderie as we mark this incredible achievement and look forward to a future where everyone has the freedom to choose who they live with.

The need for this bill comes at a time when Colorado is facing a significant shortage of health care workers. This bill addresses this need by streamlining the education process for future nurses and getting them in the field faster.
