Following an intensive investigation by the Longmont Police Department, Boulder  County Sheriff’s Office, and the District Attorney’s Office, the District Attorney’s Office today  announced the arrest of Angel Gomez Rubio for providing drugs and vapes to middle and high  school-aged students in exchange for money and sexual acts. The investigation included the use  of records and evidence obtained from search warrants for social media, bank, and phone  companies. Through these records and witness interviews, investigators uncovered a drug  dealing operation where the Defendant targeted middle and high school students. Specifically,  this individual would sell drugs, namely Psilocybin Mushrooms, MDMA, Marijuana and Vapes, to juveniles throughout Boulder County and the surrounding areas. Further investigation  revealed that Angel Gomez Rubio coerced underage girls to perform sexual acts in exchange for  drugs and vapes.

Angel Gomez Rubio was arrested in Texas after returning from a trip to Mexico on  nineteen (19) charges, including: five counts of Human Trafficking of a Minor for Sexual  Servitude, a class two felony, Distribution of a Controlled Substance to a Minor, a class one drug  felony, Special Offender – Pattern and Special Offender – Displays Firearm, class one drug  felonies, Enticement of a Child, a class three felony, two counts of Internet Luring of Child, a  class four felony, two counts of Sexual Assault on a Child, a class three felony, one count of  Sexual Assault, a class four felony, one count of Sexual Assault – Force, a class three felony,  Kidnapping, a class two felony, Money Laundering, a class three felony, Sexual Exploitation of a  Child, a class three felony, and Distribution of Marijuana, a class three drug felony. Based on  the various charges, he faces a wide sentencing range to include numerous years in state prison  and possibly a life sentence.

Fernando Pacheco, the co-defendant in this case, was arrested November 24, 2023, on  three charges including Human Trafficking for Sexual Servitude, a class two felony, Sexual  Assault on a Child, a class four felony, and Contributing to the Delinquency of a Minor, a class  one misdemeanor. He also faces a wide sentencing range to include numerous years in state  prison and possibly a life sentence.

It is a great example of the teamwork and coordination that occurs in Boulder  County when crimes are committed in multiple jurisdictions. The arrest in this complex and  challenging case is the result of hard work by detectives and prosecutors working together to  protect young victims.”

District Attorney Michael Dougherty stated, “These defendants are charged with preying  upon middle and high school students, including coercing students to engage in sexual acts for  drugs and vapes. This arrest is a direct result of the outstanding efforts and teamwork of the  investigators and prosecutors. Our office will strongly support the victims and fight for the right  outcome in this case.”

As in every criminal case, these charges are merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent unless or until proven guilty
