Date: April 3, 2026

Location: Timberline PK-8 School, 233 E Mountain Ave, Longmont, CO 80504

Subject: Longmont’s 12th Annual Earth Day Celebration Returns April 18 with Live Music, EV Showcase, and Free Clothing Swap

Longmont, Colorado – The 12th Annual Longmont Earth Day Celebration will be held at Timberline PK-8 School, a free community event with 700-900 expected attendees, offering indoor and outdoor experiences for all attendees. Join Sustainable Resilient Longmont (SRL) at Timberline PK-8 School on Saturday, April 18th, 10 am–2 pm, to celebrate the planet and learn how to live more sustainably.

This year’s celebration, presented by SRL and Meritrust Credit Union, is themed ‘Our Power, Our Planet.’ It will empower attendees with new knowledge about renewable energy through a series of engaging activities from dozens of vendors, while encouraging them to take meaningful steps towards a more sustainable future. Main stage acts will showcase the musical performer Jenn Cleary, reptiles and amphibians from My Nature Lab, and dances by Raven Dancers, Grupo Folklorico Mexico Lindo, and Bailes de mi Tierra. Families can meet a variety of animals at Longmont Earth Day, including alpacas and reptiles. Families can get their faces painted with an Earth Day-inspired design between 10:30 am and 1:30 pm. The Longmont Water Week Station will feature interactive activities such as art projects and movement sessions throughout the day.

For the third year in a row, Vulture Collective’s Clothing Swap invites attendees to bring clothing in any condition and ‘shop’ for a new look from hundreds of items, taking home completely free wardrobes. We will also be hosting our inaugural Maker’s Market, where local artisans will bring their art and sustainably inspired items for attendees to shop.

New for this year is our Earth Day Bike Drive. We encourage anyone with unused bikes to bring them to our event for donation. Based on condition, bikes will be reused, fixed up, or recycled. We will be offering these reused, donated bikes to the Longmont Community at a later event this year. Those interested in alternatives to gas-fueled transportation can explore the Electric Vehicle (EV) Showcase, where they can chat with owners and check out new electric vehicle models.

Also new this year is our first mini Zero Waste fair, featuring educational vendors and activities for families to learn about reducing their waste footprint. To take direct action on Longmont Earth Day, we will be hosting a Community Cleanup from 11 am-1 pm in Centennial Park.

To help navigate this extensive event, there will be a scavenger hunt to guide attendees, young and old, through the different offerings. Nourishment for all will be available from Monarca Foods, Short D’s Beans, and Sweet Cow Moomobile. “We hope to inspire everyone to take action in their daily lives towards a more sustainable, empowered future by signing our pledge tree,” said SRL’s Events and Outreach Manager Gina Burrows. “We can’t wait to see everyone for this year’s event!” Longmont Earth Day will close with a Water Dance, a part of the National Water Dance.

The Longmont Earth Day Celebration is a free event and open to the public. Attendees are encouraged to walk, ride their bikes, use Ride Longmont, or hop on a free bus to the event via Routes 327 or 323. Please bring reusable water bottles and bags to reduce waste.

For more information and the full schedule, visit Sustainable Resilient Longmont’s website at http://www.srlongmont.org/earth-day.html
