From April 10-12, the annual Boulder International Film Festival (BIFF) comes to Longmont. This weekend is packed with series including new releases, short films, documentaries and indie projects. Colorado Dragon Boat’s annual film festival returns with a weekend full of celebration of Asian and Asian American films and shorts. This festival has a bit of something for everyone, from the animated action film “The Girl Who Stole Time” to the biographical docudrama “Centerpiece: Climbing for Life” to the crime drama “Forge.” The festival also offers the opportunity to sit in on artist panels, experience AANHPI cuisine, and support a marketplace of local businesses.

It is more important now than ever that we exercise our freedom of protest by reading banned books. Books and literature are the focal points of our culture and freedom. By reading banned books publicly and loudly, we protest the people who’ve banned them; those who actively seek to oppress and repress our knowledge and community. The Boulder Public Library at its Main Branch is hosting a reading of the book The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night by Mark Haddon. This murder mystery focuses on a young boy investigating the death of his neighbor’s dog. Throughout, he finds secrets his father had kept from him, a long-lost mother, and hope for a new day. This book is a cornerstone in neurodivergence, dealing with cheating and divorce, and solving the murder of a neighborhood pet.

Yellow Barn Farm hosts an extravagant Lunar New Year celebration this Saturday. The festival features a live fire show, martial arts demonstrations, and a taste of Asia, including a guided dumpling-making station. Partial proceeds from the celebration will be donated to non-profit organizations that promote the development of local agriculture. Galentines Take on Fox Theatre, Feb. 12th

Boulder’s all-girl indie-rock sensation, The Galentines, takes the stage at Fox Theatre on Thursday, Feb. 12th, 2026, with special guests Squash and Desiderata. Known for their striking harmonies and punk-infused sound, The Galentines celebrate the highs and lows of womanhood through sharp, barrier-breaking lyrics. The Revivalists at Boulder Theater, Feb. 10

Tuesday, Boulder Theater hosts The Revivalists, one of the country’s premier alternative rock bands. The eight-man New Orleans-based rock band blends traditional rock with hints of soul and R&B to create a unique music experience. The band partners with Jam for Good to donate $1 per ticket to fighting childhood cancer. Come by Boulder Theater on Tuesday for a unique and exciting show!
