The Birth of American Classical Music, Mar. 12th

The Longmont Museum and Longmont Symphony Orchestra are teaming up to explore the evolution of Classical music in America, starting with Antonín Dvo?ák’s American Quartet. Before the 20th century, musicians were adapting European works; however, there was a desire to create music that reflected an American culture of simplicity and optimism. The LSO helps bring this to life in the Stewart Auditorium.
