Grounded in a classical repertoire of the 19th and 20th centuries, WW5 is a woodwind quintet with a contemporary sound that takes the audience outside everyday life and infuses the imagination with new shapes, colors, contrasts and ideas. From the court of a medieval king in Milhaud’s “La Cheminee du Roi Rene,” to a summer in the Colorado mountains in Ewazen’s “Roaring Fork,” to classics from Beethoven and Weber, WW5 offers up a concert to transport you in time and place.
