Cantabile’s final concerts of the 2024-2025 season, we will premiere a newly-commissioned composition—I Shall Raise My Lantern. Composed by Greg Simon, the piece is for chorus and bassoon quartet. It pairs with Three Earth Songs which were composed by Boulder’s Bill Douglas. These two compositions for bassoon and chorus are the centerpiece with a cappella pieces by Ralph Vaughan Williams, Benjamin Britten, Craig Hella Johnson and Shawn Kirchner. We will live-stream our Sunday May 11 concert.
