Event Details

Free and open to the public.

Join History Colorado, the UCD Political Science Dept., the Rocky Mountain Irish Roots Collective, and the Colorado Labor Education Collaborative on April 16th at Auraria campus for this important panel discussion that centers the lives and dignity of immigrant workers in early Colorado.  During this challenging time, we have much to learn from erased versions of history and from recent efforts to memorialize these erased voices.  The panel includes two former State Historians (William Wei and Nicki Gonzales), former Aurora Poet Laureate (Jovan Mays), and UCD Professor and Romero Troupe founder James Walsh. The discussion will center around how to ensure that history remains representative of vulnerable and exploited communities.

Student Commons Building on Auraria campus, room 1600 (ACAD 1600).  Parking is available near the Tivoli.
