At the center of this year’s gala is Juniper, a pig who was once slated to be the main course at a church hog roast. When the event was unexpectedly canceled, Juniper was given a second chance—one that led her to the Good Life Refuge.

She arrived shut down, filthy, and bearing signs of abuse, including paddle marks on her back from factory farm beatings. But fast forward, and Juniper is now 500 pounds of love and sass—always first to the food, full of personality, and a living example of what compassion can do.

The gala on April 25 will raise critical funds to support the close to 70 animals like Juniper who call the sanctuary home. With a plant-based dinner, Longmont Out Loud stand up comedy, and powerful stories, it’s a celebration of resilience, second chances, and the growing movement to see farm animals as friends, not food.
