Denver Municipal Band
July 12- September 6th
The Denver Municipal Band, the oldest professional concert band in the continental U.S., has announced the dates and locations of its free summer concerts which will take place July through September in the Denver Metro area. Concert locations include Washington Park, Southmoor Park, Harvey Park, Central Park North Conservatory Green, Bates & Hobart Park, Mayfair Park, Central Park South Founder’s Green, the Savoy Denver and Genessee Park in Golden.
“Our concerts feature a wide range of music from patriotic to Latin music and everything in between, so there is truly something for everyone,” said Joseph Martin, artistic director and conductor of the Denver Municipal Concert Band. “Our goal is to make music accessible to all through our free summer concerts. We perform in parks across the metro area to ensure there is a concert near you. Bring a picnic and a blanket, sit back and enjoy the variety of music that we play.”

Thursday, August 7
• 6:30–7:45 p.m. – Central Park North Conservatory Green, E. 49th Pl. & Valentia St., Denver with the Jazz Band
Saturday, August 9

Friday, August 15

In addition to its free summer concerts, the organization also provides music education to kids. The band engages with students in several ways by performing side-by-side concerts with student bands to give young players the opportunity to interact and perform with professional musicians; providing instruction alongside the Colorado Youth Bands; and bringing the Brass Quintet and Jazz Combo into Denver Public Schools, partnering with teachers to support school programs and help young players in the craft of instrumental performance.
The band is also available for private bookings with four band sizes and options including a brass quintet, jazz ensemble, jazz band, brass choir and concert band.
