Event Details

A remarkable performance featuring Motus monologists Laura Peniche, Alejandro Fuentes Mena & Cristian Solano-Córdova, violinist Anthony Salvo and the Boulder Phil’s String Quartet .

In this special collaboration, Motus Monologists with Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) perform artfully crafted personal stories of immigration accompanied by violin underscore, interspersed by musical responses curated by Director of Education and pianist Fernanda Nieto. Regardless of your ideas about immigration policy, come together for an evening of beautiful and profound monologues, music and community, as we get to know more about our immigrant neighbors. Co-presented with the Longmont Multicultural Action Committee and made possible with the support of the Bob Braudes & Nancy Clairmont Family Fund.

This performance is free, but registration is required.

Motus Theater

Since 2010, Motus Theater has been sharing stories to bring the voices and experiences of communities on the frontlines of violence to center stage. “The stories we tell construct our identities,” said Rita Valente-Quinn, Producing Executive Director. “They go beyond entertainment to enlighten, inspire, and catalyze action. Shared stories about the personal, the communal and the national all shape our own understanding of the world and the deep-seated power dynamics that govern us.”
