Hailing from Denver, Colorado, instrumentalist Gavin Eschholz has encountered music as a medium of expression, conveying one’s inner passions and visions in a particular space at a particular moment in time. Having experienced countless moments soaking in the music, Gavin seeks to “dream with sound” with the vehicle of jazz music and its ever-changing, spontaneous thrill.
Gavin has played in a variety of musical settings and genres, developing proficiency on several instruments including the piano, trumpet, and organ. He has played extensively in the jazz orchestra setting, working with the MSU Denver Big Band along with similar groups as trumpeter and arranger. Gavin is a member of the feature swing band Bianca and the Flyboys and its fusion form Atomic Fusion Initiative, playing famous music from the 1930s through the ‘70s. Drawing inspiration and experience from studying with great musicians like Rob Mullins, Dawn Clement, Shane Endsley, and the great Ron Miles, Gavin has shaped his sound and musicianship to touch the lives of those around him and convey the great wonder of life that has left him in awe.
Gavin is joined by his friends to engage in an evening of intense musical conversation to bring an exciting exhibition of the jazz genre.
