Event Details

“And Water Brings Tomorrow” is a documentary following formerly incarcerated leaders as they work to close prisons and detention centers and reimagine what safety means.

On May 21, 2026, Shut Down GEO Aurora, Housekeys Action Network Denver (HAND), and the American Friends Service Committee (AFSC) will host a one-night-only screening of the revolutionary film, “And Water Brings Tomorrow,” in partnership with the Sie FilmCenter in Denver. The Sie is donating 100% of proceeds from this event to FU Friends, an initiative within HAND that builds connections with people detained inside the ICE/GEO Aurora Facility and their loved ones.

Doors open at 5 pm, and the screening begins at 6:30 pm.

Organizer

Housekeys Action Network

Housekeys Action Network Denver (HAND) was created in spring 2022 to fight for rights and housing as directed by houseless people. In March 2023 we released our report “Pipedreams and Picket Fences” which gathered direction from over 1000 houseless people about housing and research on the state of public housing. This is a foundation for our housing work. Broadly, we work to end the criminalization of houselessness, ensure fair and humane treatment of people living in shelters, organize alongside houseless migrants for basic needs, fight for housing for all, and amplify the voice of houseless people in all this work.
