Local Theater Company: Stockade by Andrew Rosendorf with Carlyn Aquiline
How much LGBTQ+ history do you know? A familiar playwright to the Local community, Andrew Rosendorf has shown us new sides of that history–starting with the 2018 Henry Award-Winner, Paper Cut. Now he’s back with Stockade (co-written with Carlyn Aquiline), a new play that uncovers the difficult choices a group of friends have to make and how they shape their world.
About the Show:
Five years after the end of WWII, a group of gay soldiers gather for a reunion of sorts on Fire Island—and are met by an outsider with a surprise that will cause them to question whether history is best left in the past. At a time when “security risk” is government code for “homosexual,” it will take courage for them to step out of the shadows and confront their past and future.
