Support Local Journalism

Launched in 2001, Yellow Scene Magazine consistently provides Boulder County and the North Metro community with free, uncompromised, and award-winning, local journalism via print and online. We see the impact of our work daily with investigative reporting covering climate change, fracking and holding powerful politicians accountable, as well as writing feature stories that build community and elevate our vibrant culture, diverse voices, and hometown heroes.

To help us continue fulfilling our mission—to deliver meaningful, engaging, impactful, and authentic stories to you, our readers—we rely on your support. Please join us in our Fall Fundraiser to support local journalism, either through a donation or coming to the Gala.

Your presence and contributions directly support local journalism and ensure that Yellow Scene Magazine can continue delivering the quality reporting our community relies on for free. In a time when local journalism faces numerous challenges, your support helps us uphold the standards of investigative and community-focused journalism.

Your attendance and support will help fund:

  • Moving our Editor to Full-Time: Allowing us to cover more voices, organizations, and governments.
  • Adding Two Full-Time Beat Reporters: Ensuring comprehensive coverage of local government activities.
  • Covering the Cost of CORAs (Colorado Open Records Act Requests): Keeping government actions transparent. We handle numerous requests annually, costing between $250-$3000 each.
  • Moving our Development and Operations Manager to Full-Time: Allowing us to secure more grant funding and enhance community outreach efforts.
  • Developing “From Prisons to Pens”: A program to help formerly incarcerated individuals transition into media jobs.

Our Fall campaign goal is $25,000 and all levels of support help! Make your tax-deductible contribution here

Please consider making a tax-deductible donation even if you are unable to attend, it will truly make a significant difference. Share our mission with your friends and family, and help us continue to deliver impactful journalism to our community.

Thank you for your generosity and support!
