About Billy Hoke (excerpt from A People’s History of Boulder):
Hoke grew up in a military family and moved to Boulder in 1969 from Aspen. He landed in the middle of the city’s music scene. Hoke is the owner of the legendary Boulder Drum Shop.
“One of the first things I did when I moved here is I got on the Rolling Stones crew as stage security for a show up in Fort Collins,” he said. “I went up there and Mick (Jagger) took me under his wing and made me smoke hash with him for a couple of hours.”
Hoke went on to reminisce about playing drums with Todd from Big Head Todd and the Monsters or getting the chance to do some session work at the Caribou Ranch Recording Studio up in Nederland. During our conversation, Hoke rattled off numerous big-name musicians who have, at one time or another, called Boulder home, like Joe Walsh, Stephen Stills, Dan Fogelberg and Michael Clarke of The Byrds, among others.

Hyperbella is an intergalactic neo-soul duo from Phoenix, AZ. Composed of artists Cassidy Hilgers and Carly Bates, Hyperbella draws influence from Hiatus Kaiyote, Esperanza Spalding, Little Dragon, Lianne La Havas, and Radiohead, fusing complex harmonies with polyrhythmic textures and alternative jazz improvisation. They seek to capture relatable images and experiences within their lyrics and blend equal parts ethereal sounds with intense build-ups and breakdowns.

Olivia Roumel
Writer, singer, and guitarist Olivia “Liv” Roumel paints raw, yet ethereal storytelling with an intricate harmonic foundation. Based in Denver, Colorado, much of her music is written and influenced by her introspection while in nature, leading her to coin the term “nature-soul”.

Corsicana
Corsicana’s songs are soaring and magnetic. Bird bones aren’t actually hollow, they are interwoven with pockets for air to flow through as an extension of the lungs. Language in Ben’s music are those pockets of breath carrying us higher and higher, allowing us to take flight. And in the glide, there is pensiveness and longing. There is introspection and flagellation. There are mantras and the ways they don’t work. The realization that you must become your own person after allowing yourself to be defined by others. The realization that your parents are just as messed up as you are. The shock of aloneness and the relief of freedom. You could almost call it growing up except it’s the kind of growing up we have to do every day. A relentless honesty that comes through the associations of egrets and fathers, of turnpikes and lovers, of falling and flying.
Corsicana has become an established artist in the Colorado music scene since their debut in 2014, having opened for acts such as Devotchka, Hippo Campus, Deep Sea Diver, The Greeting Committee, & Wye Oak, among others. They have toured the West Coast four times, with plans for more in the works. Corsicana’s 3rd full-length, Kept, released in October 2023.

La Paloma
La Paloma is an artist influenced by the mysticism and color of the American Southwest. She is a jazz vocalist and bassist who grew up both in Colorado and New Mexico. She comes from a long line of rebels, mystics, and healers: bringing mystery and encourages each listener to dig deeper within themselves with every performance.
