Every year, the City of Lafayette honors the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. with an event organized by the Lafayette Youth Advisory Commission (LYAC).
Monday, Jan. 15, 2024
The City of Lafayette’s 19th annual Martin Luther King, Jr. March for Peace event will be held on Jan. 15, 2024.
Celebration: 10am-12:30pm – Indoors (march canceled)
Angevine Middle School, 1150 W. South Boulder Road
Update Jan. 12: due to extreme cold and possible snow, the Youth Advisory Commission has decided to cancel the march portion of Monday’s Martin Luther King Jr. Day event.
However, the presentations and speakers will continue as planned. These will be held indoors at Angevine Middle School.
There is a possibility that our site host BVSD will call a snow day and the entire event will be canceled. If this should occur, we will announce the cancellation on the City website and social media.
This year’s event is brought to you by LYAC in partnership with Angevine Middle School, and with support from the Lafayette Police Department, Lafayette Public Library, CU Engage, and Communities that Care.
