Event Details

Blaxplanation and the Center for Colorado Women’s History are partnering with the Curious Theatre Company for another play and discussion! Exhibit is the final play in the 27th season and in the beautiful, historic building. Exhibit is written by and stars Regina Taylor, a highly acclaimed playwright, actress, director, and activist.

Purchase your tickets for the limited-run play at Curious Theatre Company’s website and for a post-play tea service with Jada Dixon, Creative Director of Curious Theatre Company, and Regina Taylor at the Center for Colorado Women’s History as we talk about the ongoing responsibilities for women and social justice activism.

Play description:

Exhibit is about an African-American woman, Iris, who recalls pieces of her childhood as she integrated a school in Muskogee, Oklahoma. Her personal recollections are flashes of a sharply polarized America in transition as the civil rights movement rolls forward. Iris’s memories of her martyred innocence for a cause are triggered by things she thought she’d never see again in her lifetime- the enactment of today’s rollback of the social tides of change.
