(May 9, 2024) LEADVILLE, CO – Runners for Public Lands, in collaboration with Cloud City
Conservation Center, Friends of Lake County, and the Lake County Tourism Panel, invites
outdoor enthusiasts to participate in Camp & Run 2024, a transformative weekend of
conservation and camaraderie in Leadville, Colorado.
Scheduled from Friday, June 21st to Sunday, June 23rd, Camp & Run 2024 promises an
unforgettable experience filled with engaging discussions led by local experts, hands-on service
projects, and opportunities to connect with like-minded individuals. Participants will be able to
immerse themselves in the treasured landscapes of Leadville, known for its iconic trail running
and rich natural heritage.
“This partnership comes as the result of our connection with C4 and support for the Tourism
Panel’s Community Support Program. We’re excited to offer a diverse range of activities that not
only showcase the natural beauty of Leadville but also allow participants to make a tangible
difference in our community,” said Adam Ducharme, Lake County Tourism Director. “Camp &
Run 2024 is about more than just running – it’s about coming together to protect and preserve
the places we love. It is a prime example of regenerative tourism efforts that are critical to our
mission as a destination.”
Each day will include opportunities to run, hike, or swim as a group or on your own. Throughout
the weekend, there will be various activities offered to learn more about the history of Leadville
and give back to the community. Hands-on service projects include regenerative farming
activities and road cleanups. Attendees will gather together for lunch and dinner each day. And
in the evenings, they will culminate around the campfire, where they can share stories, forge
new connections, and reflect on their experiences in this remarkable setting.
“We’re thrilled to host Camp & Run 2024, bringing together passionate individuals who share a
commitment to environmental stewardship and community engagement,” said Kathleen Baker,
Executive Director of Runners for Public Lands. “This event exemplifies our collective dedication
to protecting our public lands while fostering a sense of belonging and inclusivity.”
