Dominated by a brilliant neon art deco marquee that illuminates downtown, the historic Boulder Theater serves as the city's premier stage for live entertainment. With a striking 1936 facade, the venue hosts everything from internationally touring bluegrass bands and indie rock acts to stand-up comedy and film premieres. Inside, visitors grab local craft beer from the lobby bars before finding a spot on the sloped, standing-room floor or retreating to the tiered balcony seating. It is a majestic, high-energy room where beautifully preserved 22-foot-tall murals and architectural history meet a booming modern sound system.
Z2 Entertainment
Boulder-based Z2 Entertainment is Colorado's largest independent live music promotion and entertainment company, which formed in 2010 with the merger of two of Boulder's iconic venues, the Fox Theatre and Boulder Theater, as well as The Aggie Theatre, a 650-cap venue in downtown Fort Collins and Breckenridge Riverwalk and Strings Music Pavilion in Steamboat Springs. Z2 operates and books talent in-house for these venues.
