The Denver Film Festival returns for it’s 47th year with a carefully curated program of films, events, panels, and more!

The Room Next Door introduces Ingrid (Julianne Moore) and Martha (Tilda Swinton), who were close friends in their youth when they worked together at the same magazine. Separated by the circumstances of life, Ingrid went on to become an autofiction novelist while Martha became a war reporter. After years of being out of touch, they meet again in an extreme but strangely sweet situation.

As 1971 Brazil faces the tightening grip of a military dictatorship, Eunice Paiva, a mother of five children is forced to reinvent herself after her family suffers a violent and arbitrary act by the government. This epic, sweeping historical drama about a real-life family and the ties that bind is based on Marcelo Rubens Paiva’s biographical book Ainda Estou Aqui.

Set during the 1972 Munich Summer Olympics, September 5 unveils the decisive moment that forever changed media coverage and continues to impact live news today. In a mysterious and surreal interzone somewhere between Tehran and Winnipeg, the lives of multiple characters interweave with each other in surprising and mysterious ways. Grade schoolers Negin and Nazgol find a sum of money frozen in the winter ice and try to claim it.
