16 Global and Local Artists Set to Paint 13 New Murals in RiNo Art District During International Street Art Festival DENVER WALLS

DENVER — RiNo Art District, a 501(c)(6) nonprofit arts organization dedicated to fostering a welcoming, creative community where a diversity of artists, residents and businesses thrive, proudly presents the return of DENVER WALLS, a first generation female-owned mural festival that is part of the globally renowned WORLD WIDE WALLS.

This year’s DENVER WALLS festival takes place Oct. 3-5, featuring 13 new murals created by local, national, and international artists selected from over 1,200 applicants for their innovative style and ability to inspire change and growth through their work. Artists will begin painting on Sept. 27, and the public is invited to watch them work during festival hours, particularly between 11am-4pm.

“DENVER WALLS is about more than just beautiful murals—it’s about bringing people together to experience and celebrate the culture of street art, while providing a platform for artists to share their stories and spark meaningful dialogues that inspire change,” said aid Ally Grimm (aka A.L. Grime), a Denver-based artist spearheading the festival. “We can’t wait to see how these incredible works will connect with the community and leave a lasting impact on Denver’s creative landscape.”

The 2024 artist lineup includes global artists TelmoMiel (Netherlands), Ledania (Colombia), MurOne (Spain), national artists Persue (San Diego) x Wane One (New York City), Mr B Baby (Los Angeles), Birdcap (Memphis), and local artists Anna Charney (Denver), Chris Haven (Denver), JD Pruitt (Denver) Patrick Kane McGregor x Tristan McGregor (Denver), Jahna Rae (Denver), Danielle SeeWalker (Denver), and Kendall Kippley (Denver).

During the festival, attendees can participate in a variety of community events and activities celebrating street art and emerging technologies that enhance the arts experience. Events this year include a live 3-on-3 paint battle at Blue Moon, an all-ages drawing workshop, an exclusive gallery show with RedLine, and a block party at RiNo ArtPark celebrating another year of DENVER WALLS.

Other activations happening throughout the festival will focus on emerging technologies that enhance the arts experience, including live projection mapping from WAVEFORM.exp, Deep Space Drive-In, and Lightbrush, seven augmented reality sculptures produced by Illust and ‘hidden’ in plain sight to discover, and a blockchain-powered scavenger hunt powered by COZ, inviting visitors to explore each mural, scan physical plaques to learn about the art, and earn rewards towards exclusive deals from local businesses in the District.

“Festivals like DENVER WALLS create vital opportunities for local artists to showcase their talents on a global stage and reinforce the RiNo Art District’s reputation as a creative hub,” said Alye Sharp, Executive Director, Programs & Partnerships at the RiNo Art District. “We’re proud to be supporting this event and look forward to seeing the community come together to celebrate the incredible street art being made here while enjoying all the different galleries, shopping and dining the District has to offer.
