EVENT 1: January 17, 2026

About This Event

Democratic Socialists of America – Boulder, Colorado (DSA Boulder) organizes a protest and picket against Capital One’s funding of Israeli weapons manufacturer Elbit Systems on Friday, January 17, 2026, at 3:00 PM. Join the national boycott movement demanding Capital One drop its $100 million loan to Elbit Systems, complicit in the genocide and mass slaughter of over 200,000 Palestinians. This peaceful demonstration takes place outside the Capital One Cafe at 12th & Pearl Street in Boulder, calling for corporate accountability and an end to weapons financing. From 2024-2025, Capital One’s gross profit climbed to over $42 billion while collaborating on a half-billion-dollar loan to Elbit with five other major banks. Protesters demand Capital One end its loan to Elbit Systems by May 21, 2026. Join fellow Boulder activists, social justice advocates, and community members standing against genocide funding. Bring signs, voices, and solidarity to this critical demonstration for Palestinian human rights and corporate divestment from weapons manufacturing.

Boulder DSA

Boulder DSA is a local chapter of the Democratic Socialists of America, the largest socialist organization in the US. We are a “big tent” organization: our members come from many backgrounds with many points of view, but we all agree on one thing—unchecked capitalism has created a society that puts corporate profit above human rights, and we are committed to changing that through direct, grassroots action. Our chapter in Boulder County prioritizes the following issues:
  • Housing Justice: Members of our chapter successfully organized and passed the No Eviction Without Representation ballot measure. If you need rental assistance please contact the committee or visit the cities rental support page
  • Building Labor Power: Our members are active in local unions and our chapter coalitions to support local labor whenever possible.
  • Political Education: We have a long-standing reading group that reads theory, history, science fiction, and everything in between.
  • Creating a Left Coalition: We work with groups throughout Boulder and Broomfield County to create a broad coalition of left and left-leaning housing, mutual aid, immigrant rights, and anti-war organizations.
  • Fighting Alienation: Our chapter is a community that brings together students and workers from every industry. Together, we build solidarity across a number of issues and fight the alienation of living in a capitalist society.
Boulder DSA employs many tactics, including legislative, protests, and direct community action. We don’t believe any one alone is sufficient for changing our society. If you want to fight back against rule by the rich and oppression and scapegoating of the vulnerable, join us today! You can also visit this page to donate to our ongoing organizing efforts!
