Event Details

The Songwriters Meetup is a free monthly hang for local songwriters, musicians, and those aspiring to write original music to share their works-in-progress. Sing, play an instrument, or just bring your support for those who are sharing. This is a great space to ask for input, encouragement, fresh ideas, or just supportive listening. Meet new friends and collaborators, and let’s build a collaborative, thriving musical community here in Lafayette! This is a monthly get-together on the second Wednesday of the month.

Dog House Music Studios has coffee, tea, spring water, and a bar with beer, wine, cider, and hard seltzers! No outside alcohol is permitted.

All skill levels, music genres, and ages are warmly welcomed! The Songwriters Meetup is facilitated by local musician and singer-songwriter Carly Fox.

The Songwriter’s Meetup is hosted by Rock for the People, a nonprofit organization in Lafayette, CO. Rock for the People is cultivating a diverse, inclusive, and equitable local music community in Boulder County by removing barriers for performers, audio professionals, and music fans who are often underrepresented in our local music industry. We offer free and low-cost rehearsal, recording, and marketing services and paid gigs for musicians and performers, plus paid opportunities for aspiring audio professionals. We prioritize serving and working with women, non-binary people, BIPOC, Hispanic, and LGBTQ+-identifying musicians, performers, audio professionals, and fans.

Rock for the People

Welcome to your local music scene! Rock for the People is all about Colorado's homegrown music and we're here to support YOU (the folks who create it.) You want a music scene that represents you, so our mission is making opportunities for y'all (musicians, audio engineers, music fans) from historically underrepresented groups so you're heard, seen, and cheered for. Our mission is to support an inclusive and equitable local music community by removing barriers for musicians, performers, audio engineers, and local music fans from historically underrepresented groups. Because there’s nothing more fun than creating and enjoying music and your life will be better for it!
