Herbie Hancock | Chautauqua Auditorium | Wednesday, August 11 and 12, 2026 | 7:30 PM
Legendary jazz pianist and composer Herbie Hancock returns to Boulder for a special performance at Chautauqua Auditorium as part of the Summer Concert Series. Presented by Z2 Entertainment and KUVO Jazz, the concert celebrates one of the most influential musicians of the past century.
Now in the seventh decade of his professional career, Hancock continues to shape global music and culture. From his groundbreaking work with the Miles Davis Quintet in the 1960s to his genre-defining solo albums like Headhunters, Hancock has continually pushed the boundaries of jazz, funk, rock, and electronic music. His pioneering tracks, such as “Rockit,” helped introduce electronic and hip-hop elements into jazz, while later projects like River: The Joni Letters earned him the Grammy Award for Album of the Year.
A 14-time Grammy winner and Academy Award recipient for his score to Round Midnight, Hancock remains a global cultural leader and innovator. He also serves as Creative Chair for Jazz with the Los Angeles Philharmonic and as Institute Chairman of the Herbie Hancock Institute of Jazz.
