In this film screening in Ricketson Auditorium, “Epgomanegati – Blueberry Land” by Brian J. Francis highlights the Mi’kmaq people’s annual blueberry harvest in Maine, a cherished new tradition among communities. “A Rainbow to Turtle Island” by Robbie Tait Jr. showcases his artistic endeavors to transmit Mi’gmaq culture and the political implications of his work, drawing inspiration from Leonard Peltier. A post-screening Q&A with director Brian J. Francis will be moderated by Mervyn L. Tano, IIIRM. The program is presented as part of the 20th Annual Indigenous Film & Arts Festival in partnership with the International Institute for Indigenous Resource Management.
