Event Details

This Infinity Theater film screening features “Heartbeat of a Nation” by Eric Janvier. In the film, Janvier turns the lens on his brother, Brant Janvier, who teaches traditional drum-making in a Chipewyan Prairie Dene First Nations community. The screening includes “6 minutes/km” by Catherine Boivin, capturing an Atikamekws marathoner’s run, and “Les Ciseau (The Scissors)” by Katia Kurtness, highlighting a unique craft passed down in the Innu community. Additional films to be announced, with Brant Janvier available for a post-screening Q&A. The program is presented as part of the 20th Annual Indigenous Film & Arts Festival in partnership with the International Institute for Indigenous Resource Management.

No reservations are needed to attend.
