Jocelyn Medina Brazilian Jazz Project

Muse Performance Space
Saturday, May 16
8:00 p.m.

The sounds and styles of vocalist/composer Jocelyn Medina cross cultures, creeds and continents. A veteran of the New York jazz scene, she has fast become a strong, new element of the Denver/Boulder music community.

Jocelyn brings her Brazilian Jazz Project to the Muse with Boulder-area masters Greg Laliberte on flute/sax, Bill Kopper on guitar, Bill McCrossen on bass and Raoul Rossiter on drums and percussion. The quintet will perform an eclectic mix of Brazilian choro, samba, bossa nova, forro, and Latin takes on jazz standards. Listeners can anticipate an evening of intimate and intricate listening combined with grooves sure to inspire the body to dance!

“Medina offers the jazz listener a musical journey that takes the foundation of Latin and Jazz idioms and successfully redefines the experience with thought provoking lyrics and vocal abilities far beyond the norm.” – All About Vocals
