LIBERTY BY ANY MEANS Returns for Three Performances Only—Join Us!

We have exciting news! LIBERTY BY ANY MEANS is coming back to Denver for a special remount—and we only have three performances, so we hope you can make it.

Michael Clifton wrote this powerful play while incarcerated in Colorado, and he performs it himself. The work digs into hope, resilience, and survival in solitary confinement—it’s raw, honest, and deeply human. After the performance, Michael leads a reflective dialogue with the audience, and past attendees have told us this conversation is just as transformative as the show itself.

This production is a collaboration between Grapefruit Lab and The EchoBridges Initiative.

Here’s when you can see it:

  • Friday, March 27 @ 7:30 PM
  • Saturday, March 28 @ 7:30 PM
  • Sunday, March 29 @ 2:00 PM

Where: Buntport Theater, 717 Lipan Street, Denver

Tickets are name-your-price—we mean it. This is a community offering, and we want everyone who’s interested to be able to come.

Grab your tickets here!

Bonus—Sunday Reception (March 29, 12:30–1:30 PM): If you’re coming to the matinee, join us early for an informal gathering with light refreshments. This space is especially for formerly incarcerated folks and family members of currently incarcerated people—a chance to connect and build community before the show.

Here’s how you can help:

  • Reserve your spot if you can join us
  • Share this with someone who’d be moved by Michael’s story
  • Boost the signal on social media if you’re comfortable doing so

We’d love to fill the house and make sure this work reaches the people who need to experience it.

Together, we practice a more queer and humane future through hybrid performance. A laboratory for artistic exploration We are humans first, and art is essential to our humanity. We strive for a more just and humane world, embracing the queerness in human experience – where collaborative art is an ongoing practice of radical community and collective healing. Performance is an embodied process for imagining, exploring, and deepening our humanity. Grapefruit Lab is an old collaboration with a new name – bringing together the combined vision and multimedia experience of Julie Rada, Kenny Storms, and Miriam Suzanne. Yoko Ono’s quip that a grapefruit is the hybrid of a lemon and an orange encapsulates our goal of combining highly aesthetic, compelling artistic work with a process of creating alongside communities in ways that matter.
