Longmont Theater Company: Once Upon A Mattress

Longmont, CO — LTC presents Once Upon a Mattress, performing May 1–16, 2026.

This hilarious musical retelling of The Princess and the Pea follows Princess Winnifred as she attempts to pass Queen Aggravain’s impossible test in order to marry Prince Dauntless. With a witty book and charming score, Once Upon a Mattress offers a playful twist on a classic fairy tale and is fun for audiences of all ages.

“Once Upon a Mattress is one of my favorite musicals,” said director Theresa Collins. “It’s a fast-paced, feel-good show with fun and memorable characters. With so much heaviness in the world, we really need entertainment that can lighten the load, and this show does that.”

This production takes a fresh approach with a simplified design that puts the focus on performance. “We are keeping the set very simple, which allows the acting, singing, and dancing to really shine,” Collins said.

Performance Dates: May 1-3, May 8-10, and May 15-16.
