At MahlerFest, we believe in the power of music to educate, inspire, and connect. That’s why we’re thrilled to share a special moment from our outreach in the community—a recent event at Creekside Elementary School, where 328 students experienced the magic of music, thanks to our MahlerFest musicians!
Pianist Dina Bodaubay and violinist Yenlik Weiss captivated young listeners with a program titled Duets and Dances, taking students on a musical journey from Baroque to contemporary works. Through live performances and interactive discussions, students explored different musical families in the orchestra, learned about special instrumental techniques, and even participated in a Q&A. The program featured pieces by Mendelssohn, Veracini, Brahms, and Wieniawski, as well as beloved film music from Castle in the Sky and Pirates of the Caribbean, enhanced by projected visuals.
Events like this help us bring classical music to new audiences and foster a love for the arts in the next generation.
