Event Details
The City of Boulder’s Youth Opportunities Advisory Board (YOAB) invites youth volunteers ages 13-18 to participate in the 2026 MLK Jr. Youth Day of Service on Monday, January 19, 2026. Honor Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s legacy with a “day on” rather than a “day off” through meaningful community service in Boulder. Volunteers will work with partner organizations on projects including maintaining winter greenhouses with Growing Gardens and supporting MLK Jr. Day performances at the Boulder Jewish Community Center. The day begins with a lunch gathering at 11 AM at the New Britain Building, where participants receive a volunteer t-shirt, lunch, and project assignments from YOAB members. Since 2015, over 150 high school students have served their community through this Boulder youth volunteer program. Make a difference this Martin Luther King Jr. Day through service, community engagement, and social justice action.
