Event Details

In honor of Colorado’s 150th Anniversary, Motus Theater & Denver District 7 present an interactive Playback Theater performance focused on Loving our Immigrant Neighbors. Audience members are invited to share personal stories of connection, solidarity, and belonging, which are then improvised live on stage by the Motus Playback Ensemble. Co-hosted by Denver City Councilwoman Flor Alvidrez, this event creates space for transformative listening and civic dialogue at a time when immigrant communities face harmful rhetoric and policies. Come witness how shared stories can move us forward together.

This performance is free, but registration is required.

Motus Theater

Since 2010, Motus Theater has been sharing stories to bring the voices and experiences of communities on the frontlines of violence to center stage. “The stories we tell construct our identities,” said Rita Valente-Quinn, Producing Executive Director. “They go beyond entertainment to enlighten, inspire, and catalyze action. Shared stories about the personal, the communal and the national all shape our own understanding of the world and the deep-seated power dynamics that govern us.”
