Event Details

What is your vision for Boulder over the next 20 years? What community issues are most important to you? What community assets are unseen or underutilized in the Boulder Valley that could support our shared future?

Starting in 2025, the Boulder Valley community will develop a new comprehensive plan to set policy priorities for the Boulder Valley over the next 20 years. The City of Boulder has hired the most diverse Playback Theater troupe in Colorado, Motus Playback Theater, to launch the learning phase of the Boulder Valley Comprehensive Plan (BVCP).

At this special launch event, you will have an opportunity to share a short reflection or a story about your vision for the Boulder Valley, and then watch professional improv actors enact YOUR story on the spot using movement, music, and dramatic spoken word.

The first story-sharing event on January 11th is designed specifically for community leaders and organizations whose voices and visions are most strategic to developing a stronger and more equitable future and yet have been too often marginalized. By sharing our stories we can influence the direction of Boulder for the next 20 years!

Join us Motus Theater as a family, community or organizations for a fun, informative exploration about the future of Boulder. There is power within our stories and our truths. RSVP here today!

Since 2010, Motus Theater has been sharing stories to bring the voices and experiences of communities on the frontlines of violence to center stage. “The stories we tell construct our identities,” said Rita Valente-Quinn, Producing Executive Director. “They go beyond entertainment to enlighten, inspire, and catalyze action. Shared stories about the personal, the communal and the national all shape our own understanding of the world and the deep-seated power dynamics that govern us.”
