Event Details

New Musical Project 2026 is Parlando School of Musical Arts’ annual celebration of brand-new musicals— bringing emerging works to life through semi-staged scenes and songs featuring Colorado community actors at the Grace Gamm Theatre at the Dairy Arts Center. A portion of every ticket sold goes directly to the writing teams behind these original works.

This year features two separate performance events:

Festival Performances – Semi-staged excerpts from Beethoven: Live in Concert (a rock-and-roll retelling of the legendary composer’s rise and fall, by Jad Jacob) and Sunflower: The Story of Amalie & Vincent (a heartfelt story about a lonely sixth grader who finds friendship and confidence inside a Van Gogh painting, by Laura Guli & Premila Mistry) are performed together on Saturday, August 1 at 2pm and Sunday, August 2 at 2pm.

Cabaret & Student Showcase – On Saturday, August 1 at 7pm, experience semi-staged scenes and songs from C’est La Vie (a musical about four teenage girls thrown together for a school project who discover the power of unexpected friendship, by Victoria Bernardes & Miriam Lakein), plus a cabaret showcasing songs from original musicals by Alanya Bridge, Amy Jo Jackson, Bonnie Corral & Krystin Lacey, Jesse Ayala & Justino Tesoro, Sequoia Sellinger & Sarah Rossman, Benjamin Walton, Stephanie Henry, and Magda Vidal.

Come be among the first audiences to experience these works— and help support the future of musical theater storytelling. Learn more at www.newmusicalproject.org
