The Rocky Mountain NAACP CO-MT-WY State Conference (RMNAACP) is the home of grassroots activism for civil rights and social justice for three states. We have more than 10,000 members across Colorado, Montana and Wyoming, powered by thousands of volunteers and activists. Our National NAACP office is leading the nation in the engagement of minority and BIPOC communities to engage in the fight on global climate change and the transition to a clean energy-powered country.
The Rocky Mountain NAACP has partnered with dozens of nonprofits and leaders in the community throughout the state of Colorado for decades. As RMNAACP, we will lead the planning and execution for centering impacted communities in the design and implementation of many civic projects. programs. Our approach involves a myriad of outreach actions, digital media and partnerships with community and faith-based member organizations, allies, and partner organizations to build Black community participation and engagement. Our President, Portia Prescott leads the Rocky Mountain NAACP’s civic engagement, civil rights, youth violence prevention, environment and climate outreach efforts in communities of color, including events and tailoring effective messaging for more diverse, underserved audiences.
