Schumann & Franck - Boulder Philharmonic Orchestra

Event Details

A concert full of emotion, legacy, and homecoming begins with Jennifer Higdon’s blue cathedral—an ethereal, shimmering meditation on grief and transcendence. Written in memory of her brother, this piece has become one of the most frequently performed works by any living American composer. Higdon’s music is both deeply personal and universally resonant, inviting listeners into a space of reflection and quiet awe. As one of the most successful female composers of our time, her voice is a vital part of the modern classical landscape.

Boulder Philharmonic is thrilled to welcome Colorado native Rainer Eudeikis, principal cellist of the San Francisco Symphony, for this special Boulder homecoming. Even more meaningful: he’ll be sharing the stage with his former teacher, Phil principal cellist Charles Lee, and his mother, Phil clarinetist Michelle Orman—a true musical family moment.
