Denver Film and the Denver Museum of Nature and Science joined forces to untangle fact from fiction in your favorite science fiction films. Watch classic sci-fi films and museum scientists lead discussions exploring where science and film meet.

All screenings are located between Sie FilmCenter and the Infinity Theater at the Denver Museum of Nature & Science. Screenings begin at 6:00 pm, and doors open at 5:30 pm. Get your tickets here!

Jaws – July 1st

When the seaside community of Amity finds itself under attack from a great white shark, Martin Brody, the town’s chief of police, Matt Hooper, a young marine biologist, and Quint, a grizzled shark hunter, embark on a desperate quest to destroy the beast before it kills again. Aliens: Director’s Cut (40th Anniversary) – July 15th

Fifty-seven years after surviving an apocalyptic attack aboard her space vessel by merciless space creatures, Officer Ripley awakens from hyper-sleep and tries to warn anyone who will listen about the predators. Although she is ignored at first, when contact with colonists on a planet thought safe is suddenly lost, Ripley and a military team are sent to confront the aliens.

Princess Mononoke – July 22nd

Inflicted with a deadly curse, the young warrior Ashitaka heads west in search of a cure. There, he stumbles into a bitter conflict between Lady Eboshi, the proud people of Iron Town, and the enigmatic Princess Mononoke, a young girl raised by wolves, who will stop at nothing to prevent the humans from destroying her home and the forest spirits and animal gods who live there.

Project Hail Mary – July 29th

Science teacher Ryland Grace wakes up on a spaceship light-years from home with no recollection of who he is or how he got there. As his memory returns, he begins to uncover his mission: solve the riddle of the mysterious substance causing the sun to die out. He must call on his scientific knowledge and unorthodox ideas to save everything on Earth from extinction… but an unexpected friendship means he may not have to do it alone.
