“Slay the Runway”, the Firehouse Art Center’s free outreach program for LGBTQIA+ youth and their allies, will host their 5th Annual Runway Show on June 15th at the Dairy Art Center’s Gordon Gamm Theater.
Slay the Runway offers fashion design, performance and sewing classes at no cost for LGBTQIA+ teens and allies at the Firehouse and CU Boulder. At the conclusion of the workshop, students participate in a professionally produced runway show, working with make-up artists and choreographers to refine their debuts. Slay the Runway’s goal is to create an affirming and accessible space where creativity, expression, and positive self-image are celebrated. But really, Slay boils down to 4 words- community, expression, creation, and evolution.
