2026 Stephen H. Hart Awards Celebration

This year’s 40th annual Stephen H. Hart Awards recognizes and celebrates projects representing the impactful efforts of archaeology and historic preservation in Colorado. History Colorado works in collaboration with the Governor’s Office, the State Historic Preservation Officer’s office, the State Archaeologist’s Office, History Colorado’s Board of Directors, and communities from across the state to honor the innovation and industry-leading preservation of special Colorado places.

Keeping Place: Colorado Heritage for All Exhibition Opening Celebration

The exhibition, Keeping Place: Colorado Heritage for All opens at the History Colorado Center during the 40th annual Hart Awards. The exhibit features the full breadth of Colorado’s cultures and lived experiences through the built environment and highlights Colorado Heritage for All. This History Colorado initiative is a groundbreaking project focused on adding 150 under-recognized spaces and places to the Colorado Register of Historic Properties. Colorado Heritage for All is a signature initiative of the America 250 – Colorado Commission.
