We are a group of Longmont residents standing in solidarity with the Palestinian people in their struggle against settler colonialism, ethnic cleansing, and genocide. We are committed to a genuine peace and justice for all in historic Palestine.
It is our position that:
1) Palestinians have the right to self-determination as affirmed by the United Nations General Assembly resolutions 181 A and B (II) of 29 November 1947 and 194 (III) of 11 December 1948, and all other relevant United Nations resolutions, including those adopted by the Assembly, the Commission on Human Rights and the Human Rights Council, that confirm and define the inalienable rights of the Palestinian people, particularly their right to self-determination;
2) The right of Palestinian refugees to return to their homes as affirmed by the United Nations General Assembly Resolution 194 adopted in December 1948 and repeatedly affirmed since then;
3) Judaism and Zionism are two separate concepts and therefore we reject the equation of anti-zionism with anti-semitism;
4) We believe that the only just and lasting peace is one that is based on the rejection of ethnic and/or theocratic premises and privileges but rather affirms the equality of all by extending the same rights and obligations to all regardless of all other criteria other than citizenship;
5) We believe that the United States of America has the ability if not the will to end the bloodshed. By continuing to provide financial and diplomatic support and cover the United States of America is in fact violating its commitments to upholding and promoting International Law and Human Rights.
