In honor of Women’s History Month, The Whisky Wenches Spirits Society, a group devoted to women’s spirits education, will be distilling a batch of Eleanor Gin on Saturday, March 1, and bottling it on Thursday, March 6 at Spirit Hound Distillers in Lyons.
The Gin is named after Spirit Hound’s Rocky Mountain Juniper berry supplier, Eleanor, a 90 year-old forager, who will also be attending the distilling and bottling events.
The Gin recipe was developed by the Whisky Wenches, a group that was formed in 2022 to offer an educational and inclusive space to meet like-minded enthusiasts, with the goal to create a community of females who share a passion for any, and all, distilled spirits – but particularly whisky. There are two chapters with one in each Lyons and Denver that meet monthly.
Eleanor Gin features botanicals known for their support of women’s health. While maintaining the essence of our classic recipe, Eleanor Gin introduces a captivating array of botanicals, including zesty orange, fragrant angelica root, and the subtle warmth of Ceylon cinnamon. All of which you can smell for yourself at the distilling event on March 1.
